Step Two: Arrange an Assessment
The Admissions Coordinator will call you to arrange an assessment. This helps us find the best class for you.
It is helpful if you provide a telephone number when completing the contact form. If you do not do this, then our Admissions Coordinator will contact you via the email address that you provide.
What will happen in the Assessment?
You will have a one to one conversation with our Admissions Coordinator so we can find out more about you. This will enable us to give you the best help for your individual circumstances.
We will check your English grammar, reading and writing level. This will tell us what class is best for you. You will also find out if your classes are free. For more information on costs, visit our fees page.
Things to bring to your English language assessment
- Proof of Identity (photo ID).
This can be a passport, residence permit, or UK driving licence.
And
- Proof of immigration status.
This can be a residence permit, passport with relevant visa, your asylum seekers application (your ARC card).
If you are working you must bring:
- 5 weeks of payslips (if you are paid weekly)
OR
- 1 months payslip (if you are paid monthly).
Payslips must have been issued within the last 3 months.
This is used to decide if you can qualify for free classes.
If you are not working you must bring:
- Proof of benefits.
This can be your Universal Credit account, either on your mobile or paper.
What will I do in my class?
Find out more about by seeing our grading page.
