SELT exam preparation for Secure English language Test in the UK

SELT means Secure English Language Test. It is a set of exams accredited by Trinity College. You take the exam at the level you need. You must take the exam at a registered test centre.

SELT exams are recognised by the UK Home Office. They are mainly used for UKVI applications, such as Citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain, but it can also be used for other things like becoming a London taxi driver or for student visas.

The level of exam you need depends on what you want to do. If you are applying for Citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain you will need to sit a GESE Grade 5 speaking and listening exam – roughly Entry 3 ESOL level (see our grading page for more information). Odils can offer one to one lessons to help people get ready to take SELT qualifications. These sessions run when people ask for them, so there is no timetable. The content of the lessons depends on which SELT level you are taking and why you are taking it.
